Metro's corporate communications are now under the leadership of Bollow

Ivonne Julitta Bollow has been appointed as the new Senior Vice President responsible for Corporate Communications at METRO, a leading international retail company based in Düsseldorf, Germany. She takes over this role from Gerd Koslowski, who left METRO on June 1 to pursue a mayoral candidacy in Frechen.

Bollow's tenure as Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications at METRO began on July 3, 2025. In addition to her new responsibilities, she will continue to oversee Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility, roles she held prior to her leadership position. This consolidation of departments aims to streamline METRO's interaction with its external stakeholders by integrating Public Policy, Corporate Responsibility, and Corporate Communications under her oversight.

Bollow brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having held several key positions at METRO since 2013. She served as Director Eastern Europe & International Affairs within Corporate Public Policy and has experience managing international affairs and stakeholder relations, particularly focused on Eastern Europe and Asia. Prior to joining METRO, she served as Leiter Unternehmenskommunikation at EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr and Galeria Kaufhof.

The consolidation of departments at METRO is a result of Gerd Koslowski's departure from the company. By combining Corporate Communications with Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility, Bollow will oversee a more integrated approach to METRO’s external communications and stakeholder engagement.

This leadership transition comes at a time of significant change for METRO. The company recently opened a newly designed Atrium at its campus in Düsseldorf, aimed at fostering an open corporate culture and strengthening ties with the local community and customers, especially in the gastronomy sector, METRO’s key customer group. While not directly related to Bollow’s role, this context highlights METRO’s broader strategic transformation.
