Michael Kurenkov has been officially appointed as the Minister of Energy and Housing and Communal Services of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The appointment, effective from October 3, 2025, was confirmed by a decree signed by regional governor Gleb Nikitin.

Kurenkov brings a wealth of experience to the role, having spent over two decades in the housing and communal services sector of the region. He began his career at the State Housing Inspectorate, rising from chief specialist to head of department over a period of ten years.

In 2021, Kurenkov moved to the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, initially serving as head of department. He then progressed to the position of Deputy Minister before acting as minister from May 16, 2024, until his official appointment.

Michael Kurenkov's extensive experience and proven track record in the sector make him a strong choice for the ministerial role. His appointment is expected to bring continuity and expertise to the energy and housing policies of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
