On day three of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Governor Ruslan Khudaybergenov inkled deals with multiple entities, one of which was Gazprom Neft. This partnership is centered around industrial iodine extraction from associated water at oil fields in YNAO.
With approximately 90% of iodine used in Russia currently imported, such a project is crucial for the region's technological independence and the support of medicine, energy, and agriculture, noted Khudaybergenov.
Empowering Creative Youth
In a five-year cooperation agreement with PJSC "Sibur Holding", a program has been established to boost creative youth in the area. By 2025, the plan is to implement 19 regional and 8 interregional projects, including the International Theatre Festival of Small-Form Plays 'Northern Meetings' in Nizhnevartovsk, the Northern League of the International Union of KVN in Noyabrsk, and the youth media studio 'PMK-Media' in Pyt-Yakh.
Boosting Business and Housing
Cooperation with "Alpha-Bank" will focus on three key aspects: business development, constructing housing for dilapidated buildings, and working with budgetary institutions. Given Alpha-Bank's experience and leadership in project financing for real estate construction, more than 10 projects are currently being implemented in YNAO.
Tourism and Hotel Development
An agreement was signed with AO "Kosmos Hotel Group" to increase tourism and develop the hotel infrastructure in the region. During meetings, Khudaybergenov discussed plans to synchronize the development of YNAO with the federal agenda with Artem Zogo, the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Ural Federal District.
Considering YNAO's strategic location and rich natural resources, the region is a hub for significant energy projects such as the Yamal LNG gas liquefaction project at the South Tambeyskoye field[1]. While iodine extraction opportunities might not be explicitly mentioned, it could be an area of potential interest due to the region's diverse resources.
