Netflix's "The Electric State" falls significantly short compared to "Rebel Moon"
Hey there! Let's talk about Netflix's latest release - The Electric State. This flick is raking in some serious dough, making headlines as one of the priciest movies ever produced, with a reported budget of $320 million! But, when you take a peek at the film, it's hard to see where all that cash went.
Directed by Marvel vets, the Russo Brothers, this flick is an adaptation of a grittier graphic novel. The plot revolves around a girl, Michelle, on a mission to find her brother in a Robot Exclusion Zone, accompanied by smuggler Keats, with the duo aided by little robot helpers. Michelle's robot companion somehow represents her brother as she searches for his actual body.
Sadly, The Electric State fails miserably. The acting, writing, directing, and even the pricey CGI effects struggle to impress. There are robots and apocalyptic landscapes, but it's hard to shake off the feeling that this shell of a movie doesn't live up to the hefty price tag.
Millie Bobby Brown, now 21, graces the screen with a leading role after her successful run in Stranger Things. However, her performance lacks the finesse we've come to expect, and the script certainly doesn't help. Chris Pratt, on the other hand, delivers a one-dimensional portrayal that screams Star-Lord more than a smuggler of yore. All in all, the acting is stilted and runs short of the mark.
The film flounders in other areas too - the editing and direction fall flat, leaving even the spectacular robo-battles dull. Fans of Bumblebee and Ready Player One are bound to feel disappointed, as this flick fails to make an impact similar to its predecessors. If you compare it to Netflix's other blooper, Rebel Moon, you'll realize that The Electric State is far from impressive, especially considering the astronomical price difference.

In a nutshell, The Electric State is a flop. But, don’t be too surprised if you hear general audiences saying it's at least decent. With such a grand vision and an astonishing price tag, something, many things, clearly went awry behind the scenes. Skip this one to avoid the disappointment.
