New account holders now qualify for a €100 incentive on their free checking account
In a recent development, Comdirect, a leading German online bank, has announced a new promotion for their Checking Account Aktiv. New customers who apply by November 20, 2025, will receive a bonus of 100 euros.
The Checking Account Aktiv comes with several attractive features. It includes a free daily savings account, no account management fee for certain groups, a free Visa debit card, free payments within the Eurozone, three free cash withdrawals per month, contactless payment, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Garmin Pay, Comdirect app, online banking, and the option to book the Comdirect Girocard for one euro per month.
The Girocard, when booked, allows unlimited cash withdrawals at around 5,000 Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Hypovereinsbank, and Postbank ATMs, as well as at up to 13,000 partners in retail in Germany. This service helps avoid high fees for additional transactions.
However, it's important to note that cash withdrawals with the Visa debit card more than three times a month will incur a fee of 4.90 euros per transaction. To keep the account free after the first six months, at least 700 euros must be deposited per month, or at least three purchases with Apple Pay or Google Pay or one trade per month must be made.
The bonus will be credited in the fourth month after opening the account. To receive the bonus, the account must be actively used within the first three months, and at least five transactions of 25 euros or more each must be carried out.
It's worth mentioning that the promotion is open to anyone who has not been a Comdirect customer in the last six months. If the account is not used actively, Comdirect will charge 4.90 euros in account management fees.
Comdirect also waives account management fees for customers under 28 years old, as well as for students, pupils, apprentices, or interns. The bank's website or customer service should be consulted for the most accurate and updated promotional offers and their terms.
To ensure that money regularly goes into your account, it is recommended to update your bank details with your employer. Consent for the transmission of advertising information from Commerzbank AG by email is required during the account opening and must not be withdrawn until the bonus is received.
Comdirect offers two other paid Girokonten: the Girokonto Extra for 2.90 euros per month and the Girokonto Plus for 9.90 euros per month. Additional services are offered with these two accounts compared to the Girokonto Aktiv, but specific details were not found in the search results.
