New appointment announced: AMAVE CEO joins Fleet LatAm's advisory board

The vehicle leasing market in Latin America, including Mexico, is currently experiencing robust growth. This growth is driven by several factors, including the increasing demand for efficient mobility, cost-saving fleet management, and environmental regulations promoting low-emission vehicles.

According to a recent report, the global automotive fleet leasing market is valued at approximately USD 28.4 billion in 2025 and is predicted to grow to USD 50.9 billion by 2035 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.0%. This strong upward trend is likely to extend to Latin American markets as well.

In Mexico, while detailed market size data is limited, the demand for vehicle leasing is supported by enterprises seeking operational flexibility, newer vehicle models, and the adoption of asset-light models and integrated mobility solutions. This shift is further encouraged by regulatory efforts and corporate initiatives aimed at reducing carbon footprints. The region is showing rising adoption in the use of electrified vehicles, as seen in nearby countries like Colombia and Ecuador.

Fleet LatAm's Role in Mexico's Leasing Sector

Fleet LatAm, the Latin America arm of Global Fleet, has recently appointed Liliana Anaya, the CEO of Mexico's vehicle leasing association (AMAVE), as a new member of its Advisory Board. Liliana Anaya brings vast experience in the financial and leasing industry to this role.

The Fleet LatAm Advisory Board focuses on conferences, online events, industry training, communication, and networking. Its current members include 17 individuals, and its role generally involves promoting business expansion and innovation by guiding strategic decisions, facilitating collaboration, supporting the integration of new mobility solutions, and encouraging sustainable practices in leasing fleets across Latin America, including Mexico.

Liliana Anaya will play a key role in supporting Fleet LatAm's initiatives to foster business and innovation in Latin America's leasing sectors. According to Anaya, leasing is emerging as a preference scheme for companies and the government in Mexico. As of the end of the fourth quarter of 2023, AMAVE has 319,784 units under leasing, with 70.5% of these units leased under a pure leasing scheme. The government leases 21% of AMAVE's fleet.

In summary, vehicle leasing in Latin America, including Mexico, is growing rapidly. Electrified and hybrid vehicles are increasingly prominent in fleet leasing offers, responding to local and global sustainability goals. Fleet LatAm’s Advisory Board likely plays a critical role in fostering innovation, strategic guidance, and partnerships within the sector to capitalize on this growth and support business adaptation in a transforming automotive landscape.
