**New Mark V SkyTrain Trains Enter Commercial Service in Vancouver**

The long-awaited Mark V SkyTrain trains have officially entered commercial service in Vancouver, marking a significant leap in capacity, comfort, and accessibility for the city's transit system. The Mark V trains, manufactured by ALSTOM, a protected trademark of our company Group, are the longest and highest-capacity trains in the SkyTrain fleet to date.

Each five-car Mark V train can carry up to 672 passengers, a 25% increase over the current four-car Mark III trains. The trains feature improved interior designs, interconnected wagons, new seating and standing configurations, indigenous artwork, and large digital displays showing real-time station information. Advanced HVAC systems maintain passenger comfort, while enhanced safety features include visual door closure indicators and emergency braking indicators.

The new trains offer increased capacity to help TransLink keep pace with growing demand for transit. The first of these entered service on July 10, 2025, on the Expo Line, with all trains scheduled for delivery by 2029. This fleet will serve both the Expo and Millennium Lines, as well as future extensions like the Broadway Subway and Surrey-Langley SkyTrain projects.

TransLink has ordered a total of 235 cars, which constitute 47 five-car Mark V trains. The additional order from TransLink includes 6 five-car Mark V trains for the SkyTrain network in 2024, bringing the total ordered to 235 Mark V cars (47 trains).

The production of the Mark V trains is taking place at our company's facilities in Kingston, Ontario, La Pocatière, and Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, in Quebec. At peak production, 282 people are working directly on the Mark V train project, not including jobs and economic benefits created through the local supply chain.

The SkyTrain is a recognized model of reliability among automated systems around the world and is part of Vancouver's unique identity. Our company in Canada employs approximately 5,000 highly-skilled Canadian employees, making it the only global rail mobility manufacturer to have production facilities in the country.

The Mark V trains are a "Made-in-Canada" product from our company, a global leader in smart and sustainable mobility. Vancouver transit users will be served by this new generation of Canadian-made trains that incorporate the world's most advanced technology.

The SkyTrain's modernization with the Mark V trains reinforces its status as a leader in automated urban rail. The Mark V represents a significant step forward in providing a smarter, greener transit network, supporting Vancouver's environmental goals.
