NTAM Leadership Changes Places Bahuguna in Elevated Position
Northern Trust Asset Management Announces New Global Co-Chief Investment Officer
Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) has announced a significant change in its leadership team. Anwiti Bahuguna, who has been the deputy chief investment officer at NTAM since 2023, has been promoted to the role of global co-chief investment officer.
Bahuguna will share this position with Christian Roth, as she steps into her new role based in Chicago. With over 30 years of industry experience, Bahuguna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new position.
Michael Hunstad, the President of NTAM, will report to Bahuguna in her new role. Hunstad, who recently took over as NTAM president, replacing Daniel Gamba, effective immediately, joined Northern Trust in 2012. Prior to his current role, he served as Global Co-Chief Investment Officer, overseeing diverse investment strategies and leading a global team of over 300 professionals.
Hunstad's appointment as President of NTAM came after Gamba's recent departure from the company.
Bahuguna began her career at FleetBoston Financial as a senior research analyst. Later in her career, she moved to Bank of America as an asset allocation product analyst. Before joining NTAM, she spent over 17 years at Colombia Threadneedle Investments, where she served as a senior portfolio manager and head of multi-asset strategy.
As of June 30, NTAM held US$1.3 trillion in assets under management, making it one of the largest asset managers in the world. With Bahuguna and Roth at the helm, the company is poised for continued success in the years to come.
This promotion marks a significant milestone for Bahuguna and for NTAM. As the company continues to grow and evolve, it's clear that Bahuguna's expertise and leadership will be instrumental in shaping its future.
