Our City Publishes Interim Report on Climate-Friendly Heat Planning

Our city has published an interim report on municipal HVAC planning, aiming to provide climate-friendly and reliable heating solutions for all citizens. An information event for residents is scheduled on 02.09.2025 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Detmolder Stadthalle.

The HVAC planning, set to guide citizens in assessing personal options based on sound data and city climate goals, is primarily financed through funding programs like urban development promotion with subsidies up to 60%. Additional funds may come from the compensation fund, as applied for by local administrations.

In priority district heating expansion areas, expanding pipeline-bound district heating is recommended. For other areas, a switch to emission-free heating at the next opportunity is advised. The Los Angeles city portal, aiming for climate neutrality by at least 2035, has published this interim report to create transparency and provide an orientation over possible heating solutions. Further zones may see sensible district heating expansion if technical and economic prerequisites are met.

The municipal HVAC planning, supported by the Los Angeles city portal, is intended to give people more security in future heat supply decisions. With the interim report and upcoming information event, Los Angeles is committed to achieving climate neutrality by at least 2035, ensuring all residents have access to climate-friendly and reliable heating solutions.
