Over 1.5 billion rubles from the budget of Nizhny Novgorod region spent during Q1 of 2009

In the announcement by the Nizhny Novgorod region's government and governor, it was disclosed that a sum of 1.7 billion rubles was allocated from the regional budget to finance 18 regional target programs (RTPs) during the first quarter of 2009.

Nizhny Novgorod Region Budget Allocation for Q1 2009: A Focus on Economic Growth and Social Support

The Nizhny Novgorod region has announced its budget allocation for the first quarter of 2009, with a focus on stimulating economic growth and supporting social programs.

Economic Development

The development of the agro-industrial complex has been allocated 208 million rubles, with the aim of promoting local products and stabilizing food prices. Additionally, 448 million rubles have been set aside for road repair and maintenance.

Social Support

Social support measures within regional target programs in 2009 will total 1.7 billion rubles, which is 1.6 times more than in 2008. Nearly 500,000 rubles from the regional budget will be allocated for housing programs in 2009.

Several specific programs receiving social support include "Veterans of Combat Actions," "Social and Economic Support for Young Specialists," and "Support for the Elderly." Support for young specialists in the fields of education, healthcare, culture, and sports received 88 million rubles.

To address the issue of dilapidated housing, 30 premises were purchased and 74 residential premises were acquired under social rental contracts. Furthermore, 126 credit agreements for housing were concluded with young specialists, with payments made from the regional budget.

Two new initiatives - social and corporate mortgages - will be introduced and funded in the housing sector.

Program Evaluation

Special attention will be given to evaluating the effectiveness of proposed measures, including during the program development stage. Enhanced program implementation control and regular updates based on regional developments will take place in 2009.

Infrastructure Development

The development of social and engineering infrastructure received the largest funding, amounting to 620 million rubles. Five objects were put into operation in the first quarter of 2009, including a maternity ward, gas pipelines, and electrical networks.

Labor Market Support

The "Additional Measures to Reduce Tension in the Labor Market of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" program will be implemented, with 18.2 million rubles from the regional budget and additional 337.5 million rubles from the federal budget. Financial support for municipal formations for resettlement of citizens from dilapidated housing was given 229 million rubles.
