In the heart of Harburg, Germany, a significant road renovation project is underway on Bremer Street. The project, which involves the collaboration of the Autobahn GmbH and the State Agency for Roads, Bridges and Waterways (LSBG), aims to modernize and improve the infrastructure of this busy thoroughfare.

The Autobahn GmbH's section of the project, focusing on the southern part of Bremer Street, is expected to commence in early 2025 and be completed by mid-2026. During the construction phase, one lane in each direction will remain open, albeit slightly narrowed, to ensure minimal disruption to traffic flow.

The Autobahn GmbH's work in this area includes a comprehensive renovation of the road from scratch, replacing all drainage systems and retention basins, and making the intersection areas barrier-free. Additionally, the project includes resurfacing the road and sidewalks, creating barrier-free bus stops, and installing filters to clean rainwater.

Meanwhile, the LSBG will take responsibility for renovating Bremer Street and Hohe Street from Sunderweg to the start of the Harburg bypass, with construction scheduled to begin around late 2025. The LSBG's work will also cover heavily deteriorated areas and will involve similar improvements, such as pavement renewal, structural repairs, modernization of sidewalks, and improvement of traffic management infrastructure.

It's worth noting that the project has experienced a slight delay due to a missing permit. Originally scheduled to start in June, the project's kickoff has been pushed back. However, the work on the drinking water pipes in the other two sections (between Bremer Street 168 and Hohe Street, and between Bremer Street 1b and 275) is still expected to begin in early 2025.

To provide further clarity on the project's specifics, such as the timeline and scope of the road renovation, it is recommended to consult official sources like the Hamburg city website, Autobahn GmbH announcements, or LSBG publications.

In addition to the road renovation, Hamburg Wasser will replace approximately 350 meters of drinking water pipes between the Hamburg-Marmstorf highway exit and the Appelbütteler Weg starting in September. The separate right-turn lane in the highway exit will be temporarily closed, but right turns will still be possible using the remaining lane.

The work of all three implementing bodies, Autobahn GmbH, LSBG, and Hamburg Wasser, is coordinated and aligned to ensure a smooth and efficient execution of the project. This collaborative effort promises to transform Bremer Street in Harburg, making it more modern, accessible, and environmentally friendly for all its users.

The Autobahn GmbH's project on Bremer Street extends to the renewal and modernization of infrastructure, not just limited to the southern part, but encompassing other areas such as the finance and transportation sectors through improvements to drainage systems, retention basins, traffic management, and road and sidewalk resurfacing.

Meanwhile, the LSBG is also involved in the project, overseeing renovations on Bremer Street and Hohe Street, thereby impacting the industry sectors of infrastructure and transportation, with their scope encompassing pavement renewal, structural repairs, modernization of sidewalks, and improvement of traffic management infrastructure.
