Private company AGZS's gas supply situation discussed by YTEK following media reports
In Yakutsk, Russia, a temporary shortage of natural gas for private Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations has been reported, primarily due to regional energy infrastructure limitations and ongoing modernization efforts.
The main gas company in the region, PJSC Yakutsk Energy Company (YATEK), is responding to the situation by coordinating with government and energy projects to stabilize and improve gas supply capacity. The government is undertaking a modernization program of thermal power plants (TPPs) in the eastern regions, including the South Yakut TPP, which will use natural gas from the Power of Siberia pipeline.
YATEK is involved in these efforts, supporting infrastructure upgrades and working within this framework to address the temporary shortage. While direct statements about the gas shortage at private CNG stations in Yakutsk or specific immediate remedial actions by PJSC YATEK were not detailed, the regional modernization program suggests a strategic response at the infrastructure level designed to alleviate supply bottlenecks as quickly as possible.
Motorists in Yakutsk have been affected by the gas shortage. YATEK, a company specializing in gas extraction and processing, has stated that it is ready to increase production upon receiving notifications from OAO "STNG", the main consumer and transporter of gas in the region. YATEK also guarantees that the propane-butane mixture (PBM), a crucial product for CNG stations, will not be sold outside the Republic.
The official message from YATEK emphasizes understanding and cooperation, and all necessary measures are being taken to restore stable supplies as soon as possible. The entire volume of PBM will be directed to meet the needs of the city of Yakutsk and surrounding districts. The propane-butane mixture shortage is temporary, and with an increase in natural gas production, the production of PBM will also increase.
