In Switzerland, things can burn a hole in your wallet faster than a wildfire, but one supermarket chain is fighting back.

Could Nivea products in Switzerland be partly so expensive due to Beiersdorf, the manufacturer based in Hamburg, abusing its market power in an unfair manner? This is the crux of an investigation recently announced by the Swiss Competition Commission (Weko).

"Beiersdorf is considered innocent until proven guilty"

They are examining whether Beiersdorf demands higher prices for Nivea products from Swiss supermarket chain Migros than from similar foreign counterparts. "Beiersdorf is considered innocent until proven guilty," they stressed.
