The Republic of Komi has witnessed a positive trend in agricultural production, with significant growth in meat and milk production during the first half of 2025.

According to recent reports, the production of milk (excluding raw) increased by 1.2% compared to the same period in 2024, while meat production grew by a notable 6.6%. These increases reflect a stabilization and growth in Komi’s agriculture sector.

The region aims to further boost production volumes through a series of targeted measures and support programs. These initiatives include expanding livestock inventory, improving breed quality, increasing fodder production, providing subsidies and modernizing agricultural equipment, and implementing training programs to enhance farming techniques and productivity.

The Republic of Komi's plans align with the goals and objectives of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security". The regional leader, Rostislav Goldstein, has requested the Ministry of Agriculture to develop a detailed plan for increasing production volumes.

In addition to meat and milk, the main increase in agricultural products is expected to come from pork, poultry, and sausages. The production of beef, pork, lamb, horse meat, venison, and sausages for the first half of 2025 has shown promising growth, with specific figures yet to be confirmed.

The index of agricultural production for the first half of 2025 stands at 104.4%, while the index for food product production stands at 105.3%. Livestock and poultry production (live weight) increased by 6.7%, and pork and poultry meat production saw growth of 1.7% and 14.8% respectively.

The production of meat and meat-containing semi-finished products (chilled or frozen) increased by 14.8% for the first half of 2025, and the production of meat and poultry by-products increased by 15.8%. The index of agricultural production for July 2025 and the index of food product production for both July 2025 and the second half of 2025 are yet to be specified.

These measures are part of a broader agricultural policy in Russia, aiming to stabilize and increase domestic food production amid challenges such as rising machinery costs and seed quality issues. The government encourages increased mechanization and more efficient resource use, while planning investments in rural infrastructure and workforce development.

With these plans in place, the Republic of Komi is poised for sustained growth in agricultural production, contributing to both regional and national food security goals.

The Republic of Komi's agricultural boost is not limited to meat and milk, as the production of pork, poultry, and sausages is also anticipated to increase significantly. To further drive industry growth, Komi aims to modernize agricultural equipment, improve breed quality, enhance farming techniques, expand livestock inventory, and increase fodder production – all part of a national project "Technological Support for Food Security." In the realm of finance, the region anticipates requesting subsidies to support these initiatives.
