Slippery Rock Mayor JD Longo: A Man of Service and Common Sense
In the picturesque town of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, JD Longo, a Democratic Party member and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, has been making waves as its mayor since his election in an unspecified year.
Before taking the helm of the town, Longo faced challenges in his previous role, where he did not have access to a 24-hour police department and found it difficult to reach anyone at the borough office when needed. Longo's property taxes increased twice, by almost 20%, in a five-year period, but he has not observed accountability from the previous government jobs regarding constituent services. This lack of accountability was one of the factors that motivated Longo's campaign for mayor, as he questioned the value of high taxes in relation to government jobs services.
A graduate with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in education, Longo enrolled in college after his military service in Afghanistan. He also owns a property in downtown Slippery Rock.
As he continues to serve as mayor, Longo remains committed to his vision of a Slippery Rock that is both fiscally responsible and respectful of its citizens' rights and freedoms. His leadership has brought about positive changes in the town, and he continues to work tirelessly to ensure that Slippery Rock thrives.
