Rapid expansion of fast-charging stations in Baden-Württemberg increases by 10 locations, as announced by Shell.
Shell Expands Fast-Charging Network in Baden-Württemberg
Shell is bolstering its e-mobility presence in Baden-Württemberg by adding 26 new fast-charging points across ten new locations [1][5]. This expansion is part of Shell's commitment to making electromobility practical and building a comprehensive fast-charging network in Germany.
Baden-Württemberg is already one of the German states with the highest number of electric vehicles (EVs), boasting 268,000 EVs and a density of 5,900 electric vehicles per 100,000 passenger cars [3][4]. The state also boasts 280 charging points [2].
Shell's new fast-charging points offer easy operation and multiple payment options, including the Shell Recharge app, charging card, or contactless payment [1]. Moreover, all fast-charging points operated by Shell exclusively use electricity from renewable energy sources [1].
Business customers can also benefit from these charging facilities, as they can charge electricity using the Shell Card, in addition to refueling with fuels [6]. In addition to charging infrastructure, Shell offers additional services such as snacks, drinks, and seating at many locations [7].
The exact locations of these ten new Shell charging sites in Baden-Württemberg are not yet disclosed. However, the focus is on enhancing regional coverage to better serve electric vehicle drivers in the state [1].
Shell aims to further expand its fast-charging network in the coming years, both at its own gas stations and through partnerships with retail partners [8]. The company's efforts align with regional and national initiatives to promote sustainable transportation by expanding convenient and accessible charging infrastructure.
