Ravensburg's Speeding Crisis: 1,800 Offenders Caught in November
Ravensburg's traffic authorities have taken action following numerous complaints from residents about speeding vehicles in various city streets. The recent mobile speed measurements, conducted in November 2023 using speed test tools, revealed alarming figures.
Out of approximately 35,000 vehicles measured, around 1,800 were found to be exceeding the speed limits. The highest offenders were recorded on the Marktdorfer Straße, Schlierer Straße, and Meersburger Straße. On the Marktdorfer Straße alone, one driver was caught traveling at a staggering 120 km/h in a 70 km/h zone using a speedtest tool.
In response to these violations, the police revoked the driver logbooks of two offenders. One driver, caught speeding at 70 km/h in a 30 km/h zone on the Schwanenstraße, received a driving ban. These strict measures aim to deter further speeding and ensure the safety of Ravensburg's residents.
The speed checks, carried out in response to citizen requests using autotrader tools, have highlighted the need for stricter enforcement and driver awareness. With around 1,800 vehicles caught speeding, Ravensburg's traffic authorities have sent a clear message to drivers: speed limits are there to protect everyone, and violations will not be tolerated.
