Redesigned transport solution: versatile automobile accommodating up to 17 passengers
In an exciting development, Toyota's electrically powered vehicle, the e-Palette, has reached its production form and is now available in the Japanese market. The e-Palette, unveiled as an exhibition vehicle at the 2018 CES, offers a range of up to 250 kilometers, powered by a 72.82 kWh battery and a motor offering 201 CV of power.
The e-Palette's interior features a central driving position with a yoke-shaped steering wheel, electronic direction, and necessary driving elements. The human driver function in the e-Palette will not be applied until the end of 2028, making the vehicle capable of functioning autonomously.
Access to the e-Palette is made through sliding doors, and a deployable ramp is available for wheelchair access. The vehicle's floor is low and can be adjusted to improve access to the interior.
Inside the e-Palette, you'll find two control panels housing the physical controls, a digital instrument panel positioned behind the steering wheel, a screen for the information and entertainment system on the right, and a second touchscreen to the left of the steering wheel. A fourth monitor is in charge of monitoring the interior.
The rear of the e-Palette can be conditioned for mobile commerce, service centers, passenger transport, or other community services, making it a versatile vehicle for various needs. The e-Palette can transport up to 17 people.
The e-Palette made its debut during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, demonstrating its potential in real-world scenarios. The price of the e-Palette is around $196,000, though it can be reduced with Japanese government subsidies.
The Toyota e-Palette, manufactured by Toyota, has been a significant step forward in the company's commitment to sustainable mobility solutions. With its autonomous capabilities and versatile design, the e-Palette is set to revolutionize the way we think about transportation.
