In 2025, MaPrimeRenov’ (MPR) remains a significant public aid promoting energy transition. It offers assistance to property owners in funding energy renovation projects. The assistance comes in three forms: MaPrimeRenov’ Guided Journey, MaPrimeRenov’ Incentive Gesture, and MaPrimeRenov Copropriété. Here's a brief rundown of MPR, including eligibility requirements, application process, and grant amounts.

Renovation Grants Beneficiaries, Demand, and Amount Forecasted for 2025 through MaPrimeRénov Program

MaPrimeRénov' is a French energy renovation grant program designed to help households make their homes more energy efficient. Launched on January 1, 2020, this scheme has evolved and eased its award conditions since its inception.

MaPrimeRénov' replaced several previous schemes like the Tax Credit for Energy Transition (CITE) and " Habiter mieux agilité" and "Habiter mieux sérénité" aids from the National Housing Agency.

In 2025, MaPrimeRénov' divides into three primary schemes:

  1. Accompanied Pathway: This scheme targets large-scale energy renovations intended to improve the home's energy efficiency by at least two energy performance classes.
  2. Gesture Pathway: Intended for single, targeted insulation works like changing a heating system, insulating the home, or replacing windows.
  3. Co-ownership: Allows coproprietors (homeowners in a shared ownership situation) to carry out energy renovation works.

Eligibility for MaPrimeRénov' depends on factors such as income, occupation, and the type of housing. Landlords seeking to finance energy renovation work for rental properties can also apply, subject to certain conditions.

The income ceiling to receive MaPrimeRénov' in 2025 varies depending on the scheme and the region (Ile-de-France or outside). The reference tax income of the previous year (i.e., 2024 for a request made in 2025) of all the occupants of the dwelling is taken into account.

Work eligibility includes energy improvement works, heating, domestic hot water, thermal insulation, and other works like cost removal of an oil tank, mechanical ventilation systems, and energy audits.

Grant amounts for the Gesture Pathway in 2025 depend on the income level of the household and the type of work planned in the home. On average, the grant amounts have decreased by approximately 30%. For example, the grant amount for installing an automatic wood-fired boiler for very modest households is now €5,000, down from €7,000, while the grant for pellet stoves or log stoves is now €1,000 for modest households, down from €1,500.

Other work grants for all income categories are now approximately between €300 to €1,500.

Due to rapid depletion of funds, the MaPrimeRénov' program might face a suspension from July 2025, pending future changes or updates.[1][2][3]

To apply for MaPrimeRénov', qualified homeowners, landlords, or housing cooperatives can use an online simulator to estimate the amount of aid and find the right contractors. This simulation takes only a few minutes and requires information about the home, the household's income, and other relevant details.

Households looking for assistance in their application can seek help from a France Rénov' advisor, who can guide them through the application process and recommend suitable contractors.
