Germany's Stock Market Rises as Defense Sector Thrives
European stock markets started the new week on a positive note, with the Euro Stoxx 50 advancing 0.7% by late afternoon, and the MDax gaining 0.9%. The Dax closed 0.2% higher at 23,749 points.
In the German market, defense companies were particularly in demand. Rheinmetall, a leading defense and mobility company, hit a new record high and was up 2.3% to 1,941 euros by late afternoon. The company's shares rose following Rheinmetall's agreement to acquire Lürssen's military division NVL, entering the naval shipbuilding sector.

Elsewhere in the market, Hensoldt rose by 1.7%, while Renk also rose by 1.6%.
