Russia Boosts Minimum Wage and Pensions for 2026
The Russian government has announced key changes to the minimum subsistence levels and salaries for 2026. These updates will affect various aspects of life, including social benefits and wages.
Starting next year, the minimum subsistence level for the working-age population will rise to 20,644 rubles. For pensioners, it will be set at 16,288 rubles, and for children, at 18,371 rubles. These figures are used to assess the standard of living and calculate social benefits.
The draft federal budget for 2026-2028, proposed by Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, includes a 7.6% increase in the salaries of budget workers. This increase is also reflected in the planned 7.6% rise in insurance pensions, effective from January 1st, 2026.
These changes aim to improve the living spaces of various segments of the Russian population. The new minimum subsistence levels and salary increases are expected to provide better support for basic needs and enhance the overall standard of living.
