Russia to Spend 11 Billion Rubles on Southern Energy Storage
Russian Minister of Energy Sergei Ciivilev recently met with Kuban administration representatives in Anapa. The gathering focused on energy preparations for the upcoming autumn-winter period, with a significant emphasis on establishing an energy accumulation system to address the electricity deficit in southern Russia.
Ciivilev, who also serves as the Governor of the Krasnodar Krai, discussed the region's energy storage plans. He revealed that the government intends to allocate a substantial sum of 11 billion rubles for this purpose in southern Russia.
The meeting explored various aspects, including generating capacities, fuel supply, and energy storage construction. Notably, the project in Krasnodar involves installing solar modules with a total capacity of 250 MW in the villages of Elizavetinskaya and the Eastern Industrial Zone.
Previously, Ciivilev held a meeting in Simferopol to discuss electricity and heating preparations in the Southern Federal District. This underscores the government's commitment to ensuring energy security in the region.
While there is no official announcement yet regarding the construction of energy storage systems in southern Russia, the government's plans to allocate 11 billion rubles for this purpose indicate a significant step towards addressing the electricity deficit in the region. The upcoming autumn-winter period will likely see increased focus on energy preparations and infrastructure developments.
