Salaries of Cooks and Special Task Workers in June 2025
Servant supers and special-task workers, classified under the group of private home employees, receive their June salaries based on the prior month's figures, since a fresh collective bargaining agreement addressing wage updates is yet to be negotiated within the sector.
Why are we celebrating Father's Day in Argentina today?
Reason being, the government's resolution 1/2025 is still valid, establishing minimum wages for each employee category. Hence, for June, the calculation of cooks' and special-task workers' wages refers to those falling under the sector's second category, consisting of exclusive task cooks, and those requiring specific skills.
Hourly wage of cooks in June 2025
In June, those hired on an hourly or shift basis within private households, perform specific tasks, and fall under the aforementioned category must refer to these minimum values:
- For withdrawals: ARS 3270 per hour
- Without withdrawals: ARS 3585 per hour
These amounts apply to workers dedicating less than 24 hours weekly to the same employer.
Monthly salary of cooks in June 2025
For workers employed on a monthly basis, the corresponding figures are:
- For withdrawals: ARS 400,310 per month
- Without withdrawals: ARS 445,613 per month
These figures represent an approximate calculation for workers operating under the jurisdiction of law no. 26,844, working 24 hours or more weekly for the same employer, relative to the hours actually worked.
Please keep in mind that these sums represent only salaries. Employers must also pay supplementary wages such as seniority, pension contributions, and health insurance.
Vacation days for home workers
Domestic service workers, including supervisors, specialized personnel, caretakers, nannies, adult caregivers, and general-task personnel, follow a rest day plan based on their working hours.
From November 1 to March 30 of each year, employees are entitled to vacation days, with the number of days depending on seniority and following the following rule:
- Less than 6 months: 1 rest day for every 20 worked days
- From 6 months to 5 years: 14 days
- From 5 to 10 years: 21 days
- From 10 to 20 years: 28 days
- More than 20 years: 35 days
A proportional vacation day scheme is applied for new employees:
- Between 4 and 7 weeks: 1 vacation day
- Between 8 and 11 weeks: 2 vacation days
- Between 12 and 15 weeks: 3 vacation days
- Between 16 and 19 weeks: 4 vacation days
- More than 20 weeks: 5 vacation days
As of August 2022, no country-specific collective bargaining agreement has been discovered specifically targeting cooks and specialized personnel in private household employment[1][2]. Nevertheless, domestic workers in general are subject to certain wage standards and fall under the purview of Resolution 1/2025[1][2]. For further details regarding labor agreements, it is advised to consult specific labor unions or governmental agencies handling labor relations in Argentina.
