Schools team up with Education and MEW to encourage energy saving

The Ministry of Education in Kuwait has recently launched the "Rasd" campaign, a national initiative aimed at promoting energy and water efficiency in educational institutions. This strategic campaign is part of a broader awareness campaign called "Wafer," which focuses on energy and water conservation across various sectors.

The "Rasd" campaign, initiated by the Ministry of Education, has already shown promising results in reducing consumption. It is designed to monitor and reduce electricity and water consumption in schools, contributing to national sustainability goals through practical monitoring and awareness.

The campaign benefits from funding and support by government bodies and charitable organizations, indicating a nationwide commitment. Key details of the "Rasd" campaign include its objective to track and reduce electricity and water consumption in schools, its partnerships with various entities, and its integration as a part of the "Wafer" campaign.

The "Wafer" campaign, launched last June, aims to build awareness about electricity and water conservation. It also seeks to instill sustainability values and promote efficient resource use across different segments of society. The positive effects of collaboration between ministries have been demonstrated by the "Rasd" campaign.

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, has expressed hope that the "Wafer" campaign will raise awareness across society. Khadija Abdul Redha, head of the media and awareness team for conservation at the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, spoke about the "Wafer" campaign. She praised the Ministry of Education's effective role in delivering conservation messages to students, educators, and staff.

Mohammed Al-Khalidi stressed the importance of continued inter-ministerial cooperation. He also highlighted the Ministry of Education's strong support and engagement in the "Wafer" campaign. Abdul Redha expressed her appreciation for this support. The Ministry of Education's involvement in the "Wafer" campaign is helping to build a culture of awareness and responsibility within the school community.

The "Rasd" campaign's goal is to collect accurate consumption data and develop effective implementation plans to enhance energy efficiency in schools. Its success underscores the importance of collaboration between ministries in achieving sustainable development goals and embedding conservation practices across sectors.

A lecture titled "Towards Sustainability... Save" was held Tuesday at the Ministry of Education as part of the "Wafer" campaign. The lecture introduced practical applications and methods for reducing consumption and increasing efficiency, further reinforcing the broader goals of the national "Wafer" campaign.
