The Chinese automaker, Chery, has embarked on an ambitious 12-stage, 2000 km challenge with their new model, the Fulwin A8 Pro. The journey commenced yesterday at 3 pm from Wuhu, Auhui Province, and is being live-streamed on Douyin, China's TikTok.
The Fulwin A8 Pro, yet to hit the market, is scheduled for launch on April 18. Powering this long-distance contender is the Chery Kunpeng super hybrid C-DM system, equipped with a 1.5TGDI hybrid engine, a 60L fuel tank, and an 18.3 kWh battery.

The electric motor on the front axle provides 150 kW with 310 Nm of torque, and transmission is a 1-speed hybrid transmission (DHT) unit. The system combined power is 265 kW with torque of 530 Nm.
Interestingly, William Li, the founder and CEO of Nio, achieved over 1000 km distance with a Nio ET7 using a new 150 kWh battery in December last year.
Meanwhile, the Chery Jetour Shanhai L7 Plus is set to start pre-sale on August 18 with a combined range of 1,700 km. The Fulwin A8 Pro event is the latest live-streamed attempt by a Chinese car company to gain headlines, following in the footsteps of the Luxeed R7 fastback SUV and the Fulwin X3 and X3L, launching on August 16, available in BEV and EREV.
However, the status of Chery's real-world test aiming for a 2000 km distance with the Fulwin A8 Pro is not publicly reported, as there is no direct information available about the progress of this test in the search results.
