Shell executive tapped to succeed National Grid's CEO position

The mighty National Grid's shaking things up, mate! They've tapped Shell's rather seasoned exec, Zoë Yujnovich, to step into the big boss boots of the current grid boss, John Pettigrew. Yujnovich takes over later this year with a yearly salary of a cool £1.3 mil.
Yujnovich ain't new to this high-stakes game, having worked at Rio Tinto and the Iron Ore company of Canada, and currently sitting on the board of Unilever as a non-executive director. Pettigrew, who rose from a grad role at National Grid back in '91, will say his goodbyes on November 16.
As Pettigrew bids adieu, he reflects on his time leading the grid, stating, "It's bloomin' been an honor to be at the helm of this ship, and all I've achieved is due to the gunny bunch o' talented folks I've had the pleasure to work with."
One of Yujnovich's first orders of business will be dealing with an unprecedented £60bn investment into National Grid's UK and US infrastructure over the next five years.
Back in February, NationalGrid sold off its US renewables business for around £1.4bn following a policy reset under President Trump.
Yujnovich is psyched about her new gig, saying, "Energy companies are like the engine of change, man, and on both sides of the pond, National Grid's got a crucial role to play in keeping energy secure, affordable, and reliable for our customers and communities."
