Single-direction road: Adolf-Todt-Street
In the heart of Wiesbaden, Germany, a temporary change has been announced for Line 9 bus service due to a road trial on the banks of the Rhine at Biebrich from August 1 to 3, 2025.
The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden has confirmed that the area of Rheingaustraße in front of Biebrich Palace will be closed to cars, buses, and trucks during this period. As a result, Line 9 buses will be rerouted, with access only possible via the "Anlieger frei" rule from Rathausstraße direction.
This means that Line 9 will not travel through the usual route in front of Biebrich Palace but instead will take a detour to avoid the section reserved for bicycle traffic.
Travelers using Line 9 during this period should plan for additional travel time, although the exact duration of the delay is not specified in the available information. Given the closure and rerouting described, some extra time should be expected, particularly because access to parts of the route is restricted, and the bus must take an alternative path.
The affected buses run on the regular route until "Glarusstraße" and then follow the street course to "Adolf-Todt-Straße". From there, they continue straight ahead to "Schloss Biebrich" and resume the regular route.
It is worth noting that trips in the direction of Mainz are not affected. However, trips in the direction of Schierstein are subject to the detour.
Passengers are advised to consider these changes when planning trips and to allow additional time if necessary. For the most accurate and real-time updates, checking the ESWE Verkehr website or local traffic announcements on the day of travel would be advisable.
An overview of all detour announcements is available on www.eswe-verkehr.de. Current timetable information can be found in the interactive network plan on www.netzplan-our.de.

For any questions or further information, citizens can contact the responsible department, office, or the switchboard of the town hall. The ESWE-Verkehr service telephone is reachable from Monday to Friday between 7 and 18 o'clock and on Saturdays from 8 to 15 o'clock under the number (0611) 45022450. Timetable and fare information is also available via the hotline of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund and is available daily around the clock under the number (069) 24248024.
Further information can also be found at the timetable displays of the affected stops.
The temporary road trial on Line 9's route will impact the public-transit industry, as buses will have to follow a rerouted path due to the closure in Rheingaustraße. Finance might be affected as well, considering the potential increased operating costs for transportation companies in Wiesbaden during this period.
