In an unexpected twist for Sean Ono Lennon, watching the upcoming documentary, "One to One: John & Yoko," felt nothing short of mind-blowing. The film, set to hit theaters globally on April 11, has brought to light forgotten and previously unseen footage and images of his legendary parents, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, during their activism-filled years between 1971 and 1973.

The young Lennon was taken aback by what he saw, confessing, "I was completely floored." Peering into his father's life through never-before-seen footage was an intense and surprising experience.

"I think maybe not everyone realizes how special it is for me to hear my dad talking or to see him," he mused. Growing up, Sean had to piece together his father's image through the same media that the world was exposed to, and at just five years old, he lost his dad to a deranged fan in New York City in 1980.

Unveiling John Lennon in a new light, the documentary delves deep into the heart of the early '70s, a time of intense political upheaval and radical activism for the rockstar and his partner. The film sheds light on the US government's attempts to deport John Lennon, as well as John and Yoko's controversial associations with the Black Panthers and other activist groups.

The period in question saw the couple stage their famous "One to One" concerts at Madison Square Garden in 1972, a monumental event in John's solo career. The concerts, originally intended as a benefit for the Willowbrook State School, marked the couple's foray into the world of activism and featured guest appearances from musicians like Stevie Wonder and Roberta Flack.

In a truly remarkable feat, the film uses American TV clips to immerse viewers in the era's unique atmosphere, complete with the Vietnam War, popular shows, and more. The documentary also includes newly remixed and produced music by Sean Ono Lennon, adding a fresh layer to the cinematic experience. Lastly, it presents previously unreleased footage and newly restored images from the "One to One" concert, offering an entirely new perspective on the couple's work.

Above all, "One to One: John & Yoko" offers a captivating and revealing look into the lives of this iconic couple, challenging established narratives about their artistic and activist pursuits during this pivotal time in their lives.

Yoko Ono, as seen in the upcoming documentary "One to One: John & Yoko," is involved not only in the footage of John Lennon's activism years, but also in Sean Ono Lennon's life, as the documentary offers a fresh glimpse into their relationship.

The documentary, scheduled for release in theaters on April 11, features unseen footage of John Lennon, including his 1972 Madison Square Garden concert, a significant event in his solo career.
