Spirit Halloween Expands with New Christmas Stores, Boosting Holiday Spending
Halloween spending is set to reach an all-time high of $13.1 billion this year. Meanwhile, Spirit Halloween, the popular costume retailer, is expanding its reach with a new festive retail experience for the holiday season. The company plans to open 30 pop-up locations in the Northeast and Great Lakes regions, nearly quadrupling its space from last year.
Spirit Halloween, known for its extensive range of costumes and accessories, is bringing its festive spirit to the holiday season. The company is launching Spirit Christmas, a new retail concept offering a wide variety of Christmas decor, gifts, and apparel. The stores will also feature interactive displays and free visits with Santa at select locations.
The expansion is part of Spirit Halloween's strategy to capture the spirit of the season and grow its customer base. The company tested the concept in October 2024 with 10 locations and has seen positive results. This year, Spirit Christmas aims to nearly quadruple its footprint, indicating strong consumer demand for festive retail experiences. In-store sales are expected to grow by 2.75% year over year, and holiday retail sales are projected to grow by 4% this year, although this is below the 10-year average.
Spirit Christmas is set to become a significant player in the holiday retail scene, offering a unique and immersive shopping experience. With its expansion to 30 pop-up locations and the introduction of the Peppermint Village, the company is poised to capture a significant share of the holiday spending, contributing to the projected $13.1 billion in Halloween spending this year.
