Stock Market Index AGEM Experiences a 0.7 Percent Decline in July

The AGEM Index, a benchmark that tracks the performance of gaming equipment and manufacturing companies, experienced a slight decline in July 2025, dropping by 0.7% compared to the prior month [1][2][5]. However, the index still showed a significant year-over-year increase of 32.8% [1][2].

The key contributors to the July 2025 AGEM Index were Konami Corp. (TYO: 9766) and Aristocrat Leisure Limited (ASX: ALL). Konami Corp. saw a 16.1% increase in stock price, contributing an 88.88-point gain to the index, making it the largest negative contributor for the month [3][5]. Aristocrat Leisure Limited, on the other hand, had a 4.4% increase in stock price, leading to a 44.83-point gain for the index [3][5].

Despite the overall slight monthly decline, these two companies were the largest contributors for July 2025. The substantial year-over-year increase reflects strong performance across the gaming sector captured by the AGEM Index.

Seven out of ten AGEM Index companies reported stock price increases in July 2025 [6]. One of the positive contributors was Crane NXT, Co., whose stock price increase by 10.1% and resulted in a 10.00-point increase for the index [4].

However, three companies made negative contributions to the index [6]. Notably, Konami Corp. was the largest negative contributor, with a 10.1% decrease in stock price [7].

In other market news, an affiliate of private-equity giant Apollo Global Management acquired the gaming and digital units of International Game Technology PLC and Everi Holdings Inc. for a combined $6.3 billion [8]. As a result, the newly split IGT company and Everi went private and were delisted from the NYSE [8].

Brightstar Capital Partners also completed a $1.1 billion acquisition of PlayAGS, Inc., which went private and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange [9].

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 experienced a 0.6 percent increase in July 2025 [10]. The NASDAQ, on the other hand, rose by 2.0 percent over the month [11]. IGT's lottery business was not involved in the transaction and remained on the NYSE under the new name of Brightstar Lottery [12].

In comparison to the previous month, the Index fell by 13.52 points [2]. The AGEM Index closed at 1,889.77 in July 2025 [2].
