Streamlined promotion strategies unveiled for remote regions - Streamlined regulation promotes countryside advancement
In Dresden, Germany, Minister of Regional Development Regina Kraushaar unveiled new guidelines intended to alleviate the administrative burden associated with obtaining funding for projects in rural areas. The revised directive simplifies the proof-of-use regulations for rural development, as stated by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development following cabinet approval.
According to Minister Kraushaar, these changes will help residents of villages and small towns in the countryside create a more active role in shaping their local environments. The simplifications will be applied to programs such as "Vibrant Village Centers" and "Regional Budgets," which focus on bolstering rural development through local infrastructure, engagement, and initiatives.
Launched in 2016, the "Vibrant Village Centers" program supports projects aimed at providing equal living conditions in villages and small towns, encompassing reconfigured recreational areas, rejuvenated event and community spaces, and more. Since 2019, "Regional Budgets" have funded smaller projects.
The guidelines also address the funding area of Rural Structural Improvement, also known as land consolidation. This modification clarifies property rights, streamlining them when necessary, which enables projects such as flood protection and new rural path construction.
The new guidelines, by reducing administrative requirements and streamlining the funding process, foster greater participation and swift development outcomes, ultimately improving local living conditions, countering rural depopulation, and promoting sustainable growth in the Dresden region.
The revised community policy, as outlined by Minister Kraushaar, will facilitate finance for projects within the "Vibrant Village Centers" and "Regional Budgets" programs, enhancing local infrastructures and initiatives in rural areas.
