Subway Announces New CEO: Jonathan Fitzpatrick
Subway, the world-renowned sandwich chain with a 60-year history of serving guests, has appointed a new CEO to lead its future. Jonathan Fitzpatrick, a seasoned executive in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry, will take the helm on July 28, 2025.
With over 20 years of experience in franchising and the QSR sector, Fitzpatrick boasts a remarkable track record. Most recently, he served as President and CEO of Driven Brands, an automotive services company, where he steered the company to 17 consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth.
Prior to Driven Brands, Fitzpatrick held senior leadership positions at Burger King, including Executive Vice President and Chief Brand and Operations Officer. During his tenure, he oversaw a major menu overhaul, simplified operations, and reimagined the guest experience to modernise the brand's image.
Fitzpatrick's appointment follows a period of Interim CEO Carrie Walsh's leadership. He will work closely with Walsh to ensure a smooth transition. Fitzpatrick expressed his honour at leading Subway, highlighting its foundation in providing fresh, better-for-you options.
As CEO, Fitzpatrick aims to boost franchisee profitability at Subway and grow the brand globally.
