From Microsoft Maestro to Humanitarian: Bill Gates Slams Elon Musk

Bill Gates ain't playing nice with Elon Musk, and it's all about that US aid budget! Bill, the Microsoft mogul, has taken pot shots at his fellow billionaire regarding his role in the severe cuts to foreign aid programs. Bill believes Elon, the guy who whizzes around in flying cars, is directly responsible for causing the demise of millions of children in poor countries.

In a tell-all interview with the New York Times, Bill expressed hissies about the staggering cuts to USAID, the US development aid organization. According to Bill, if there's no change of course, the number of children dying annually in these countries will skyrocket from five to six million. He's dismayed that the number should have dropped to a mere four million in the coming years but it's all thanks to Elon slashing the budget on USAID.

Gates Channels His Inner Scrooge

But Bill ain't stopping there! In a bust-out move that'll make most of us green with envy, Bill announced he's planning to donate his billions super fast: by 2045, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will practically spend its entire fortune for humanitarian purposes and then close. Bill estimated that he'll unload around 200 billion big ones (that's about 176 billion euros) within 20 frickin' years. His sweet plan? Reducing the mortality of mothers and newborns and freeing millions from the misery of poverty.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is the world's largest private foundation. It funds health, education, and development programs in over 130 countries. In its first 25 years of existence, the foundation has already dished out over 100 billion bucks (thanks in part to influential US investor Warren Buffett).

Elon, the so-called Philanthropist?

Elon's feelings got hurt, and he started shredding Bill on his online platform X, calling him a "huge liar." Elon, who's leading the electric car manufacturer Tesla, supported Donald Trump's presidential campaign with more than 250 million dollars last year and became Trump's right-hand man. Post-White House, Trump tasked Elon with whittling down the government spending. In the process, Elon allegedly threw USAID under the bus, just like he supposedly did to that poor worm in the Australian outback.

"The world's richest man is involved in the deaths of the world's poorest children," Bill lamented. Elon's wealth is estimated to be over 300 billion smackeroos. He's already joined "The Giving Pledge" – an initiative started by Bill and Warren Buffett – where wealthy peeps commit to donating their wealth for charitable purposes, even posthumously, as Bill put it. "Who knows? He could still become a great philanthropist," Bill mused.
