Telekom Launches Social Tariff for Low-Income and Disabled Customers
Telekom has launched a social security tariff to aid customers with very low income or a disability. The tariff offers significant discounts on monthly costs for those who qualify.
Telekom's social security tariff is designed to help those in need. It provides two tiers of discount: Social Security Tariff 1, offering up to 6.94€ off for customers exempt from the broadcasting fee, and Social Security Tariff 2, offering up to 8.72€ off for blind, deaf, or speech-impaired customers with a disability grade of at least 90.
To qualify, customers must be exempt from or entitled to a reduced broadcasting fee due to low income or reduced earning capacity. Additionally, households with a blind, deaf, or speech-disabled person with a disability degree of at least 90 percent also qualify. The discount applies only to the monthly basic costs for the telephone connection and does not include costs for calls via 0180 savings prefixes.
Customers must inform Telekom immediately if their circumstances change and they no longer qualify for the social security tariff. The discount does not apply retroactively and unused credit does not carry over to the following billing month. The connection may not be used predominantly for commercial purposes.
Telekom's social security tariff offers a lifeline to those struggling with the cost of telephone connections. By providing significant discounts to those who need it most, the tariff ensures that everyone can stay connected.
