Tractor Supply, the beloved rural retailer, is riding high on a wave of success. Recently, it opened 12 new stores, bringing its total to a whopping 1,967 across 49 states. And that's not all - the company has also reeled in over 5 million new members for its loyalty club this year, pushing the tally past the 22 million mark [1].

CEO Hal Lawton spilled the beans to analysts last week, revealing that these loyalty club members tend to farm a lot more cash than their non-loyal counterparts. In fact, they spend about triple, accounting for almost 70% of Tractor Supply's sales [1]. In Q3 alone, the number of high-value customers enrolled in the program grew a whopping 30%, and their retention rate continues to top out at a staggering 95% [1].

Tractor Supply's 13.1% third-quarter comp rise marks the sixth consecutive quarter of double-digit comparable store sales growth [2]. In the period, net sales soared by 15.8% to a hefty $3.02 billion, while net income jumped by 17.7% to $224.4 million [2].

'Tractor Supply continues to outperform (and exceed expectations), claiming the crown in rural America,' Telsey analysts led by Joseph Feldman said, waxing poetic in their emailed comments [2]. 'The company's focus on essentials (over 50% of sales) and strategic initiatives, including the addition of side lot lawn & garden centers, a more comprehensive store remodel program, an increased focus on pets, expanded omni-channel capabilities, and growth of the loyalty program, should continue to fuel growth and market share gains.'
