Roadworks for the new tram system begin on Monday, causing traffic disruptions on La Campana and Martín Villa streets.

Traffic disruptions expected on La Campana and Martín Villa starting Monday, as construction on the tram project commences.

The second phase of the tram works between Santa Justa and Plaza del Duque in Seville is set to commence in October, as confirmed by the mayor of the city. This phase will extend to Laraña and Imagen Streets and the surrounding areas of the Metropol Parasol.

Initially planned to start in July, the work has been delayed. The total execution period for this second phase is approximately ten months. The first phase of the work will last until November, with an execution period of approximately two months.

The City Council has stated that, in principle, the interventions will not affect the itineraries of the guilds. However, the arrival of workers for the tram construction works in Seville will affect the Tussam lines. Line 13 and 14 Tussam buses will divert via Alfonso XII street, Torneo, and La Resolana. Line 27 and 32 Tussam buses will end at Plaza Ponce de León instead of Campana.

The bus stops of Tussam lines serving this area of the Center will need to be relocated. The workers will only act on the road and not on the sidewalks. The traffic cuts due to the construction works of the second line of the tram in Seville will occur next Monday.

The traffic cuts will affect Campana and Martin Villa streets, up to their intersection with Orfila. Work on Plaza del Duque and other areas such as Gavidia and Concordia will not start until after Easter. The City Council has confirmed that these interventions will be compatible with the passage of the brotherhoods.

The delegate of Mobility of the Sevillian City Council, Álvaro Pimentel, stated that this work is necessary for the city. He assured that the City Council announced these changes on Friday, September 17. The mayor of Seville has also confirmed that the work has already started.

The City Council has stated that they will ensure minimal disruption to the public during the construction period. They encourage residents and commuters to plan their journeys accordingly and to follow the signs and instructions provided by the authorities.
