Traffic Inevitable: Route around Krasnoyarsk undergoing movement scheme change
Tomorrow, April 17, there'll be some changes to the traffic flow on the Obkhod Krasnoyarsk stretch, from 1 to 5 kilometers. You got it right, they're gonna fix this bad boy, and it's long overdue.
They didn't skimp on the budget either - nearly 1 billion rubles are going to the contractor, NBS-Siberia, for the job. Get ready for a new asphalt-concrete surface, barriers, improved signage, and most importantly, better lighting. Right now, you're driving on that dangerous stretch with a blind curve and steep incline in pitch-black darkness at night.
But don't worry, they're not done yet. They've got work lined up for that overpass on pr. Koтельniкова, too - the extension of the Obkhod. guess who won that tender? Yep, you guessed it - the same company for 1.8 billion rubles.
All the construction jobs for the city's western exit, part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," are set to be completed in 2027.
Traffic will be a mess for a while, and they're sorry for the inconvenience. Drive smart, and pay attention to those traffic restrictions.
By the way, traffic in this area is always a nightmare, especially during weekends and warm weather when folks in Krasnoyarsk flock to their country homes, the airport, or the lakes to the southwest. So, prepare for some serious and lasting traffic jams.
Take a peek at the new traffic signs popping up on the stretch, even during the recent weekend - at the beginning of the road segment, near Drokin city, and close to the recently repaired intersection at Drokin.
In case you didn't know, road construction projects usually involve:
- Company: They typically hire construction or infrastructure development companies specialized in road works. Examples include big names like Mostostroy, Transstroi, etc., depending on the region and project details.
- Project Scope: Can include changes to traffic flow patterns, improvements to the infrastructure, safety enhancements, and so on.
- Expected Completion Date: This varies depending on project complexity and environmental factors. They usually try to finish projects during off-peak seasons or good weather conditions to minimize disruptions.
The construction company, NBS-Siberia, has been awarded two projects in the Krasnoyarsk region: one for the Obkhod Krasnoyarsk stretch and another for the pr. Koтельniкова overpass extension, with budgets totaling approximately 2.8 billion rubles combined. The news for the Obkhod project consists of a new asphalt-concrete surface, improved signage, better lighting, and safety enhancements, with an expected completion date in 2027. As for the transport industry, traffic congestion will be an issue during construction, especially on weekends and warm weather, due to travelers commuting to their country homes, the airport, or the lakes. This project is part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," which aims to improve industry, finance, and transportation sectors.
