Triton Construction Wins £1.5M Contract for David Brown Santasalo's New Defence Gearbox Test Facility
Triton Construction has secured a £1.5 million contract to build a new testing facility for global gear manufacturer David Brown Santasalo. This follows their successful collaboration on two previous manufacturing and engineering buildings worth £5 million. Steve Watson, Global Defence Director & Managing Director UK at David Brown Santasalo, praised Triton Construction's work and selected them for the new land defence gearbox test facility.
The new facility, set to be a 5400 sq ft warehouse building, will be 9m high to accommodate overhead travelling cranes. It will include full M&E installation, external works, and drainage. Triton Construction will install anti-vibration and soundproofing measures to ensure optimal testing conditions. This is not the first time Triton Construction has worked on such facilities. They have previously installed a gearbox testing rig for a Naval Frigate, incorporating extensive underground ducting and an integrated cooling system. Paul Clarkson, Managing Director at Triton Construction, expressed delight in continuing the partnership with David Brown Santasalo.
David Brown Santasalo, with over 1,100 employees across 28 locations on six continents, specializes in industrial gearboxes for various industries. Their selection of Triton Construction for this project reflects the latter's proven track record in delivering high-quality, specialized facilities. The new testing facility is expected to enhance David Brown Santasalo's capabilities in the defence sector.
