Troubled Maserati Announces New Business Strategies Soon

Maserati, the luxury segment brand under the Stellantis group, is set to unveil a new business strategy following the departure of former CEO Carlos Tavares. The new strategy, which is currently being finalized, will be announced after the new Stellantis CEO, Antonio Filosa, officially takes office at the end of June 2025.

The revised plan includes a host of new products for Maserati, such as updated versions of the MC20 (potentially with a high-performance V6 hybrid), continued development of the Grecale SUV, a modernized Levante, a more assertive Quattroporte sedan, and ongoing Grand Tourisme packages with the GranTurismo and GranCabrio.

In addition to new model launches, Maserati plans to restructure its relationships with dealers and its post-sales network to improve performance and market alignment. This restructuring is aimed at enhancing the brand's overall performance and ensuring a better fit in the current market.

The new approach also involves greater operational synergies with Alfa Romeo, another premium brand under the Stellantis group. The synergies include shared R&D and vehicle platforms, aimed at cutting costs and improving competitiveness, while maintaining distinct brand identities.

This strategic overhaul is seen as a critical turning point for the struggling luxury brand, which has faced significant sales declines and had to shelve prior model launches, including its first electric vehicle plan under the old strategy. Maserati CEO Santo Ficili, who is also the head of Stellantis' premium brand Alfa Romeo, has expressed optimism about the brand's future under the new leadership and strategy, emphasizing continued Italian design, engineering, and production.

The announcement of this comprehensive strategic overhaul is expected to occur between late June, following Filosa's appointment, and the Stellantis Group's half-year results presentation on July 24, 2025.
