Nicki Shamel Takes the Helm at TuneCore US
Nicki Shamel, a seasoned music industry professional, has been appointed as the Head of TuneCore US. In her new role, Shamel will oversee the management of TuneCore's artist roster and lead the platform's focus on artist development and growth in the US market.
Based in New York, Shamel will be responsible for a team dedicated to artist acquisition, growth, and development strategy across the United States. She will also play a key role in aligning TuneCore's artist and DSP (Digital Service Provider) partnerships teams to better serve artists, driving long-term growth and creating more opportunities in the competitive US music market.
Prior to joining TuneCore, Shamel served as Senior Vice President at AWAL, where she helped shape the company's positioning in the streaming ecosystem and elevated the careers of artists such as Laufey, Jungle, and Little Simz. She also built and expanded the global commercial partnerships team, spearheading the company's digital strategy across major DSPs.
Brian Miller, TuneCore's Chief Revenue Officer, expressed his excitement about Shamel's appointment, stating that TuneCore is doubling down on its mission to support artists and help them build lasting, successful careers on their own terms.
