Under the banner of expansion, Singapore's JTJB unveils a construction and infrastructure division, bolstered by the recruitment of experts from Watson Farley & Williams (WFW)
Boon Tat Yeo, a seasoned legal professional with over two decades of experience, has joined Joseph Tan Jude Benny (JTJB) as a senior partner to spearhead the firm's newly launched Construction and Infrastructure practice.
Yeo, who previously worked at Watson Farley & Williams (WFW), has been hired to lead this practice aimed at supporting clients on complex construction, infrastructure, and energy projects across Asia. His extensive experience in the field, which includes stints at Pinsent Masons MPillay and local firm Quahe Woo & Palmer, brings a deep regional perspective to his practice at JTJB.
In his role at JTJB, Yeo will provide both contentious and non-contentious legal services covering the entire lifecycle of construction and infrastructure projects. His expertise includes advising on tender and contract documentation, procurement strategy, project risk management, and dispute resolution through litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. His client base spans government bodies, private developers, contractors, consultants, and subcontractors working on infrastructure projects such as airports, ports, rail, roads, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, and renewable energy facilities.
John Sze, managing partner at JTJB, stated that the addition of Boon Tat Yeo marks a key milestone in the growth of the firm. "Boon's wealth of experience and expertise in the construction and infrastructure sector will significantly enhance our capabilities and services, enabling us to better serve our clients," said Sze.
The formation of the construction and infrastructure practice under Yeo is part of JTJB's strategy to capitalize on growing regional investments and infrastructure developments. The firm is also actively recruiting to grow this practice further. The new practice will offer JTJB's clients end-to-end legal support across both contentious and non-contentious aspects of construction projects.
Yeo specializes in complex disputes involving public infrastructure, power plants, oil refineries, and commercial developments. His addition to the firm means that JTJB now has eight partners in Singapore.
