Universal Entertainment adjusts its leadership team at Okada Manila operation
In a recent shake-up, Universal Entertainment Corp, parent company of Okada Manila, has introduced a new management structure aimed at enhancing governance and decision-making processes. This announcement was made post their annual shareholder meeting, where they unveiled a board of directors and 12 executive officers.
The new setup aims to decentralize authority and streamline decision-making, with the board focusing on broader business strategies, while the executive team takes charge of day-to-day operations. This move is intended to strengthen governance and pave the way for sustainable growth over the long term.
Following the meeting, four director appointments were confirmed. Three of them, Tomohiro Okada, Masayoshi Miyanaga, and Hiroshi Miyauchi, were reappointed. Yoshiyuki Shouji, introduced earlier this year, will oversee overseas business management, as well as legal and intellectual property matters.
Kuninobu Okuda was named as a full-time audit and supervisory board member. Meanwhile, Okada Manila's operations are still managed by Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Universal Entertainment.
Universal Entertainment is primarily owned by Okada Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong-based private firm where Tomohiro Okada, son of the ousted founder Kazuo Okada, serves as a director. Okada Holdings controls 70.30% of Universal Entertainment's voting rights.
It's essential to note that shifts in leadership can have a substantial impact on governance and decision-making processes, often resulting in strategic realignments, enhanced executive roles, or shifts in operational focus. However, specifics on how these changes affect Okada Manila are not yet provided. For accurate insights, updates from Universal Entertainment or TRLEI are highly recommended.
