Title: Unjust Enrichment Case in Omsk: Local Resident to Pay Over 1.99 Million Rubles

Unknown Woman Blackmailing Unidentified Person for Commission from Fraudulent Translation

It's clear as day that a local Omsk resident is about to dish out a hefty sum of around 6 digits, amounting to an additional 1,990,000 rubles, from an unknown female visitor hailing from the city of Petushki, Vladimir Oblast.

On Monday, May 5, 2025, details of a civil suit filed by the Petushki resident against a local man were made public by the Sedelnikovsky District Court in Omsk Oblast. The woman alleged the man of unjust enrichment, citing an ongoing criminal case with the Russian Interior Ministry's OMVD Russia in the Petushkinsky District of the Vladimir Oblast. This case, initiated on July 31, 2024, accuses unidentified individuals of embezzlement, under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, related to the theft of 2,440,000 rubles belonging to the woman.

Notably, the woman demanded that the man pay interest for the misuse of her funds, asserting that she never knew him and had no financial obligations towards him.

The court ruled in favor of the woman, handling the case in the man's absence. Apart from the return of the 1,990,000 rubles, the man was also ordered to pay an additional 336,331.15 rubles in interest. The man, who did not participate in the proceedings, may contest the verdict.

It appears that this court case involves yet another instance of someone accused of being a drainer, a term for someone who, for a fee, provides scammers with their card details, which are later used to receive funds from unsuspecting victims. Omiches have been frequently involved in such cases. For example, in late April, officials from the Samara Oblast Procurator's Office claimed to have filed a suit against an oмиchunka, to whom approximately 1,981,000 rubles were sent from a local woman.
