US Boosts Aussie, Estonian Defense with $4B Military Aid
The US has announced a significant military aid package to Australia and Estonia. This includes High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) launchers and missiles, along with Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS).
The deal, valued at over $4 billion, comprises 48 HIMARS launchers for Australia at a cost of $705 million. This is in addition to the 40 launchers already provided. The exact number of missiles for Australia is not specified.
For Estonia, the US will supply additional HIMARS launchers and missiles, though the quantity remains undisclosed. This follows the delivery of 24 launchers and 160 rockets in 2022. The new contract includes six more launchers and numerous missiles.
The total delivery includes 856 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) packages and 182 ATACMS missiles.
The US continues to strengthen its allies' defense capabilities with this substantial military aid. Australia and Estonia will benefit from enhanced artillery firepower, bolstering their deterrence and defense strategies.
