Wealthy, enigmatic tycoon surfaces in KhMAO region, boasting substantial financial holdings.

In Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, a Microenterprise Outpaces Majors in Asset Valuation

A small enterprise, LLC "OilMet," based in Kogalym, KhMAO, has astonished the region with its staggering asset valuation of over 714 billion rubles, surpassing larger competitors in the oil and gas industry. The surprising revelation can be found in the company's financial statements available on the Federal Tax Service website.

The figures presented in the documents are authentic, as confirmed by a representative of LLC "OilMet." However, they clarify that the astronomical asset value is a result of asset valuation alone.

Established in 2009, the firm is led by General Director Ivan Polyshchenko and offers pipe products, supplies pipes for oil drilling, and provides services for the oil and gas industry. A few years ago, the enterprise additionally launched a plastic waste recycling production line with an initial investment of 747 thousand rubles, as disclosed on the city of Kogalym's investment portal.

Historically, the company's financial records have shown relatively modest performance: annual turnovers ranged from 5 to 50 million rubles, and net profits fluctuated between losses and gain of up to 9 million rubles. In 2022, the profit stood at 4.3 million rubles, followed by a mere 48 thousand rubles in 2023, and 9.04 million rubles in 2024. remarkable, the company's balance sheet experienced a 40,000-fold increase during the same period, from 17.5 million to 714.1 billion rubles. This substantial growth allowed the company to claim the top spot in the "Services in retail and wholesale trade" category in the region and the third position amongst all enterprises—behind only subsidiaries of oil corporations in the KhMAO region.

Following this declaration in 2025, Polyshchenko marked his place among the region's top entrepreneurs, surpassing Viktor Sarapin (owner of a group of special equipment companies, with a 35 billion ruble asset volume), Yaroslav Melnik (founder of oil service company "Ekoton", with a 23 billion ruble asset volume), and even Vladimir Bogdanov, the general director of "Surgutneftegas" with an estimated net worth of 1.4 billion dollars by Forbes.

Interestingly, our previous reports indicate that traditionally, the leaders in terms of asset value have been associated with the oil industry in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Before the appearance of LLC "OilMet" in the official reports, the ranking was principally occupied by Bogdanov, Sarapin, and Melnik.
