Workday Confirms Data Breach Affecting Business Contact Info

Cloud-based software giant Workday has revealed a data breach, impacting commonly available business contact information. The breach was discovered on August 6, 2025, and primarily involves names, email addresses, and phone numbers of iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 users. It is not believed that customer tenants or their data were accessed.

Workday, which serves over 11,000 organizations including 60% of Fortune 500 firms, announced the breach after attackers gained access to a third-party CRM platform via social engineering. The breach is suspected to be linked to the ShinyHunters campaign, which previously targeted Salesforce CRM and other high-profile companies like Adidas and Qantas.

Workday has confirmed that the compromised data does not include sensitive information such as passwords or financial details. The company has also stated that they will never contact customers by phone to request secure information at their my location. Workday has implemented additional security measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
