Turns out, the upcoming anime film "Batman Ninja Vs. Yakuza League" has left us grinning ear to ear with its peculiar trailer.
Now, if you're scratching your head wondering what this sequel to 2018's "Batman Ninja" is all about, don't sweat it. That cheeky trailer playfully unveils the Bat Phoenix, a fusion of various vehicles and their pilots.
Featuring a swingin' '70s art style, this trailer croons the vocal magic of iconic artist Mitsuko Horie.
Horie, like some kind of queen bee of the anime world, has sung some seriously epic tunes in her career, including the iconic theme for "Voltes V," a '70s super robot series.
ever heard of "Voltes V"? The show was a brain-melting mashup of five separate vehicles that combined to form a giant mech — just like the Bat Phoenix and other super robot shows.
Fast forward to present day, and "Voltes V" has seen a live-action adaptation, but the original anime? It's still got fans in Japan and beyondProperties of Voltes V
drooling over it like kids in a candy store.
The humor here? Batman and his pals forming up in a similar way to "Voltes V" and other super robot series. Cameo by Horie? Simply perfect, seeing as she performed the ending song for "Gatchaman II" and the God Phoenix is probably the inspiration for the Bat Phoenix's name.
